Because of the value placed on prayer by the Lord Himself, we’ve set aside time four mornings a week, as well as two full hours each Monday night, for prayer. All are encouraged to come. Depending on how the Holy Spirit directs us, we might pray for the Church, missionaries sent out from Upper Room, world evangelism, our nation, revival, or other topics of concern. It is often a powerful and encouraging time as we make contact with the Lord, hear his voice, feel his burdens, and pray his prayers. One of the main emphases has been to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and a visitation of God to Lafayette. “They all joined constantly together in prayer…” (Acts 1:14). “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly” (Acts 4:31).
